Our company’s S-100-AB-D01 multifunctional lithium-ion battery fire extinguishing agent features high-efficiency fire extinguishing, resistance to reignition, and no environmental pollution after extinguishing. It is primarily suitable for extinguishing solid fires, non-water-soluble flammable liquid fires, and is particularly effective in the initial stages of petroleum product fires, as well as initial fires involving lithium phosphate and ternary lithium batteries. It is the preferred new type of environmentally friendly and highly efficient fire extinguishing agent for enterprises, factories, oil fields, oil depots, ships, energy storage power stations, and new energy vehicles.
Water, as a non-flammable liquid, is the most abundant natural fire extinguishing agent and has the widest applicability in various fire scenarios. However, water also has the characteristic of being fluid, resulting in a high waste rate and poor resistance to reignition. Therefore, by adding substances with special properties to water, a highly efficient water-based fire extinguishing agent is formed, thereby improving the fire extinguishing performance of water.
This fire extinguishing agent boasts superior cooling and flame-retardant properties. The agent film adhering to the surface of objects can withstand temperatures exceeding 1000 degrees Celsius and effectively cuts off oxygen supply. While cooling and suppressing the fire in batteries, it prevents the ignition of other flammable materials in the vicinity, thus controlling the fire. Our company also utilizes this extinguishing agent in portable fire extinguishers and automatic fire suppression systems, providing suitable fire protection solutions for residential and commercial applications (battery charging rooms, charging stations, carports, garages, energy storage systems).
In response to market demand, our company has conducted corresponding fire extinguishing tests on soft-pack ternary lithium batteries, square lithium iron phosphate batteries, and high-discharge lithium polymer batteries. We have developed specialized test models based on the characteristics of different lithium batteries. Through continuous refinement during the testing process, we have obtained satisfactory test data. All tests showed that the fires were extinguished within 5 minutes without reignition.
Ignition and Extinguishing Mechanisms
- (I) Ignition Mechanism
- Combustion requires four necessary conditions: fuel, oxides, heat, and a chain reaction of combustion.
- Sustained combustion requires three sufficient conditions: sufficient fuel, sufficient oxides, and sufficient heat.
- If any one of these elements is missing, combustion cannot be initiated or sustained.
- (II) Extinguishing Mechanisms
- Cooling Extinguishing Mechanism: Cooling the combustible material below its ignition point stops the combustion reaction.
- Asphyxiation Extinguishing Mechanism: Reducing the oxygen concentration around the burning material to below its minimum oxygen concentration for combustion through penetration and isolation can extinguish the fire.
- Isolation Extinguishing Mechanism: Isolating the combustible material from the ignition source or oxygen automatically stops the combustion reaction.
- Inhibition of Combustion Chain Reaction Extinguishing Mechanism: Using the reaction between the extinguishing agent polymer and the free radical intermediates of the chain reaction, thereby interrupting the combustion chain reaction and preventing the combustion from continuing.
